Grapefruit

Grapefruit isn't just a tangy citrus served best with breakfast.

More than a pucker-provoking fruit, the grapefruit is a hybrid between a large sour citrus fruit called the shaddock and the sweet orange, serves several specific purposes (the seeds, skin, pulp, juice and all) like banishing the blues, ridding acne, "erasing" years off your appearance, and fighting infections.

Deeply embedded in the outer peel of the fruit lies the grapefruit’s essential oil glands. Cheerful, invigorating, energetic and even slightly euphoric, grapefruit essential oil can help banish the blues. Extracting yourself is tough. So instead, buy a bottle of organic grapefruit essential oil, dab a few drops onto your pulse points (and maybe even one under nose), take a deep breath and a long calming exhale.
